I'd like to make one of my blogs about a personal account, instead of a news article.
I have a friend named Barbara Bunker. Her daughter, Nova, was born with a rare disease called Schizencephaly. This means that she was born with roughly 25% of her brain. Because of this large density of grey matter in her brain, she experiences hundreds of seizures a day. After countless doctors and hospital visits, the decided there was a surgery that may or may not work. The surgery they were advising for her was very risky and would be removing 10% of her already small amount of brain matter.
Barbara and Nova are now in the process of selling everything and packing up for Colorado Springs, where Nova can be given Cannabis Oil which has proven effective against seizures in countless cases.
The problem with all of this is that packing up and moving shouldn't be Nova's only hope at a better life. Why can't this be an option for all cases similar in nature? I'm going to miss my friend, but this federal law making cannabis illegal is draining this poor little girl of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I'm commenting on my colleague Haley Van Horn's Blog 7. First off I want to say I hope for the best for the child and her family. I personally never heard of the disease, but it's just another reason why we should legalize marijuana. The benefits of legalizing it far more exceeds the dangers. There is so many good that can come out of legalizing it and it's not like it won't be regulated. Yes their would be people that abuse it, but alcohol is legal and there is far more dangers in alcohol than in marijuana in my opinion. Furthermore, there's no positive health benefits with alcohol. Legalizing marijuana will help many people all around the United States including the child from the blog.
